Historic Smithfield
The house and grounds have been restored to their original state, so your guests will enjoy the atmosphere of this colonial home. But don't worry about Smithfield being "too old" for your present-day needs - our modern conveniences make your special gathering easy to plan.
The
grounds and garden, as well as selected rooms in the house, can be
rented
to fit your style. Historic Smithfield is an ideal and unique
location
for weddings, receptions, dinner parties, company picnics, family or
class
reunions, or any special event that you want to be historic!
Treat your party to a journey back in time! For a small fee, costumed interpreters will welcome your guests into Smithfield's 18th century rooms where they can see period furnishings, family portraits, and satisfy their curiosity about the Preston family and life on this frontier plantation.
Smithfield is available for rental outside of our tour hours. Tours are given Monday, Tuesday, Thursday through Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00pm.

Fees include the use of the grounds adjacent to the main house, changing room (wedding party only for up to an hour before the event), restrooms, access to electrical outlets, and trash removal/cleanup.
