Volunteer

Our volunteers are a vital part of Smithfield and have helped the site grow greatly in outreach and community involvement. They are of all ages and come from all walks of life.

To become a volunteer, take a minute to fill out our volunteer form,
then step back in time as you share the rich history of our area with visitors to Smithfield.

  • Interpret 7 rooms of the house and grounds in period costume.
  • Help maintain the demonstration garden and grounds.
  • Staff the museum store.
  • Assist with special event planning and implementation.
  • Help in the office.
  • Assist with the Smithfield Kids and Junior Interpreter programs.
