Day Sponsorship
What will the money be used for? All of the funds you donate will go directly to the operating budget for Smithfield. These funds keep us from using our savings accounts to meet the program budget.
Here's How It Works: Individuals, families, or businesses can contribute $250 for the day of your choice, in honor of a particular person or family event (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) Sponsors will be recognized in the newsletter, on our website, and on signs placed in the public areas of the house ("This month's sponsors are:"). Additionally, twice a year, we will run a newspaper ad thanking our sponsors. This is an excellent way for businesses to get local recognition for community service.
What Do You Need To Do? Provide us with your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, date you would like to sponsor, and "In Recognition of:", make your check payable to "Smithfield APVA", and send it to Historic Smithfield Plantation. We will send you an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes and will place your name on our sponsor list. You may indicate if you would like us to contact you each year to renew the gift.
